President’s address
Dear colleagues,
Welcome to CPLOL’s 8th congress, from 25 to 26 May 2012 in The Hague!
Every year many congresses and conventions are dedicated to topics in speech-language pathology and treatment, but in Europe this congress is unique. Most congresses are dedicated to one domain, but this congress will cover all domains in speech and language therapy and presenters and participants will come from all European countries.
This is the first time that CPLOL’s congress is held in the Netherlands and will be hosted by the Dutch Association for Logopedics and Phoniatrics (NVLF). Moreover, in 2012 the NVLF will celebrate its 85th anniversary with her members and at the congress with all participants.
We live in challenging times. Health care and professional education of young people try to keep up with online technology and social media. Speech-language therapists too! We hope to welcome many presentations about eHealth, health 2.0 and telehealth, which will be inspiring to others. But also: what is new in Europe and has not been published internationally yet? How can we learn from the differences in health care and professional education? And of course the first results of the NetQues project will be presented.
The congress venue is in The Hague, the most international town of the Netherlands, because The Hague is not only home for the Dutch parliament and the International Court of Justice, but also for embassies from all over the world. So, everyone will feel at home.
